Coach Angela

Heya, my name’s Angela,

I have spent most of my life in a Martial Arts gym, so the gym is a home to me. It has been there to pick me up during times of need, given me a sense of purpose and a sense of community.

I competed in Taekwondo and became an Assistant Instructor by the age of 12. Only to have found myself returning at the age of 19. I became extremely unwell right out of high school and decided to try Muay Thai and joined a local gym. That changed everything for me.

5 years later, I have now participated in multiple competitions and have had the privilege to assist many individuals with their fitness and fighting goals as a Trainer. I love to see how fitness truly changes the course of one’s life for the better and how much of a privilege it is to be a part of that person's journey.

The goal for my classes is to improve your technique and fitness but to also provide a fun and engaging space to let off some steam. I hope to be apart of your Boxing Fitness journey…

See you at the gym, Ange.

I've been a striking coach now for over a decade and have worked with all levels of experience from your day one right up to professional competition.

My martial arts passion started off thanks to Blockbuster (RIP)! Every week I would go rent a VHS of either Bruce Lee or Jackie Chan. I swear I've watched more of those films by minute than I have actually trained myself. My training begun with Taekwondo and had me competing at a state level before I even had a signature to scribble. Falling away from training through my teenage years I found myself back into martial arts where everything changed for the better. My new life had begun! After numerous Muay Thai bouts I had been offered an assistant coach role and have never looked back.

The knowledge and experience I have gathered over the years has developed my coaching style that will push you both physically and mentally as I aim to ensure you can not only execute techniques correctly, but also understand its application.

Come join me for a fun challenging class where I will ignite a passion from within you may not have even known existed!

I remember being a teenager, dreaming of training and fighting and competing but never having the opportunity to. I told myself once I was done with studies and working in an office, I was going to come back to Melbourne and pursue the dream.

Well.. until covid hit and everyone's dreams were temporarily put on hold.
But in this time I filled my time with learning and upskilling, getting my personal trainer certs, making new friends who introduced me to boxers and muay thai fighters and my eyes were opened.
With my pt certs and some new found friends we ran lots of outdoor group classes, 1 on 1s to pass the time.

Fast forward 4 years and the dream lives on. I now have a couple boxing and muay thai fights in the bag and have coached at reputable.

Fighting and competing has given me so much more than just a bag of medals. I've grown to be a more patient, more understanding and more confident person, and more importantly it has given me friends and a community to grow with.

It's never too late to chase the dream, you never know where it could take you.

2025 marks my 21st year in boxing and my 13th as a coach, im a bronze level accredited coach with Boxing Australia and an accredited Master Trainer. The sport has given me the most amazing memories, experiences and people in my life. It's helped me through the lowest of lows and elevated the highs and wherever I go in the world I always try to find a new gym to connect with.

Boxing is my passion, it's a beautiful sport that requires us to go to depths we never knew we had and also in return shows us what we are made of. It's also my message for a greater conversation of health and well being (physically, mentally and emotionally) Coaching is the single most rewarding thing for myself to support people and the community in finding themselves in the gloves and what boxing feels like and means to for them. From day 1 to amateur/professional competition I believe Boxing is for everyone.

What you'll find in my classes, lots of smiles and laughter with a heavy respect for the fundamentals and biomechanics of the sport. If I can give you anything, it's my undivided attention and time whenever it's needed.

See you in the gym - M.

I've been a boxing coach for 5 years and a competitor for 2. I turned professional in 2024, and am passionate about the sport of boxing.

I am attentive, patient, and intense. My goal is to help you grow in the sport whatever level you are at.

As a coach I believe in continually learning, whether it being in boxing or in life. This is why you will see me jumping into classes where and when I can, I live for it. Life is all about balance and a healthy kind of obsession.
